The Drama department at Cavendish Rd runs weekly Drama Club every Monday and Thursday during first break, from 11:15-11:55am in the Performing Arts Theatre. All students regardless of their drama background or year level are encouraged to attend.
Drama club provides students with an opportunity to work outside of the students year level curriculum and participate in a number of specific stylised activities, such as; drama games, improvised activities, performance work, script writing and devising, directing and stagecraft. Other opportunities are Stage management and Dramaturg roles.
Students not only meet and engage with like-minded peers, they are also offered extra teacher feedback, broader skills, more time to rehearse and refine their performance work, all whilst working in a supportive environment that builds their confidence and communication skills, and helps to develop creativity and higher order thinking skills.
