Health and Physical Education (HPE) at Cavendish Road State High School aims to provide students with a foundational knowledge of both the physical and mental aspects of well being. Through alignment with the Australian Curriculum students are provided with the knowledge and experience to positively influence the health and wellbeing of themselves and the community. Integral to HPE is the acquisition and application of movement skills, concepts and strategies across a range of physical activity contexts.

Year 7 – 10

In years 7-10 HPE is compulsory for all students. Students engage in both theoretical and practical units in line with the Australian Curriculum.

Sporting Academies

Cavendish Road SHS provides unique opportunities for students to be part of a number of Sporting Academies in Football, Netball and Touch Football. Students selected into these academies engage in these classes in leu of mainstream HPE. They complete theoretical units in line with the Australian Curriculum and spend practical time developing their skills in their sport with the support of specialist coaches and trainers.
