Humanities at Cavendish Road SHS provides students with dynamic and rigorous learning opportunities through a wide range of subjects. Students have the opportunity to actively engage in challenging topics and concepts, via the explicit learning of a range of cognitive skills, including analysis and evaluation. They learn to present arguments through the development of inquiry skills in research, source analysis and the gathering of data.
Years 7 to 9
Years 7, 8 and 9 study the Australian Curriculum and engage in interrelated disciplines including History, Geography, Civics and Citizenship, Economics and Business.
Extension Opportunities
Academy of Ideas is a Humanities based Semester 2 subject offering in Year 9. It is an 'invite only' subject for extension students, targeting critical and creative thinking skills, through collaborative learning experiences.
Year 10
The Year 10 curriculum provides numerous opportunities to study preparatory subjects over a semester and aligned with General subjects offered in Year 11 and 12.
