Language Opportunities at Cavendish Road State High School

Cavendish Road State High School offers several Language opportunities.

Japanese Accelerated Program

This program is designed for Year 7 students with Japanese Language skills beyond Year 7 level.  The Accelerated Program enables students to develop and extend their Japanese Language skills with a more challenging and rewarding experience and complete their Senior Japanese studies by the end of Year 11.  Under the Accelerated Program, students begin studying the QCAA Senior Japanese course in Year 10 and sit the External Exam at the end of Year 11.  This result is potentially included in ATAR calculations the following year if ATAR eligible.  As Japanese studies then conclude at the end of Year 11, students are placed in a Study class where they have a choice to focus on their other subjects in Year 12 or use this time to take a university subject (for example from the UQ Enhanced Studies program or the Start QUT program).
